Olmedilla de Alarcon, and later Cuenca

I had expected that this would be a simple tour. Distance between campings was 140 km, but the roads would be quite flat. It would appear to be a heavy day. The via verde was not so simpe as I had expected. The pebbles caused a big balance problem (it is after all a recumbent, which is very suited for paved roads). In the dark tunnels, with no orientation at all and my light being absorbed these pebbles caused me to fall, so I had to walk. Later the road was 20 cm wide because of the plants. Again later the road stopped suddenly towards a road side-protection. The concept of the via verde is perfect, but in practice it is a difficult road and not only for a recumbent.
In the afternoon I could follow an aquaduct (from the Tajo to the Segura), for 42 km. A beautiful flat road, but quite boring.
Because I was stubborm I decided to go to the end of the canal (actual the beginning). There it ran into a dead end street.
So I had to return to 'km 18'
I decided to follow my compass and with success. After 5 km of strugling I found the originel road (of my descriptiron). So by this bet I could cut off about 30 km..
After 180 km I arrived at Olmedilla. I had expected an easy day, but it turned out to be a hard day.
The road to Cuenca was much easier and predictable. The camping was 8 km behind Cuenca, along the first perfect bicycle road in Spain. In the afternoon I visited Cuenca. An absolutely marvelous centro historico with the symbols of Cuenca: las casas colgadas high up at the rocks, beautiful. It is sometimes difficult to find campings and they are always far away from each other. So I have to pass some beautiful towns, because I have not enough time for it (also depending on the heat). That is the consequence of my choice: camping!
