The frequent reader of this blog could have discovered that after my bad experiences with the mountains of the sierra de segura, behind Hornos, has left a big mental wound in me (june 25th). Of course it was the combination of a technical failure of my bike and probably of myself. But definitely these mountains are steep!!!!
My return road could lead along these mountains again, or along a non-attractive coast. So the question was: do I give in, or fight this inclination????
Well, I fought the inclination of going the easiest way. Today I rid 140 kms, went over 2 tops of 1600 m and 1 of 1200 m. I was astonished, going the same road back that I had done this with a broken freewheel, it must have been madmans work.
The good thing is that I, again, learnt a lot about myself, today.
So now I rounded a triangle tour of Andalucia: Hornos, Malaga, Almeria and Hornos again.
